Day 12. . .Today we visited 2 gorgeous towns, Le Baux and Saint Remy. We first went to Les Baux, otherwise known as The "Dead City". This is the name of the sun-bleached ruins that are carved in and out of 650 feet above the valley. The ancient castle was home to notorious warriors, and feudal lords. Les Baux was the powerhouse of France and controlled over 80 villages in the 11th century. After going through many changes it was demolished in the 1600s and is now open to the public to visit the remarkable views.
When we had finished exploring the castle we ate lunch and shopped for a little. We then headed to the town Saint Remy, saw some pretty boutiques, and had ice cream as a snack in a little cafe. After eating our cold treat, we went shopping and then headed home. When we came back to the apartment the owner had an aperitif, so Brooke and Eric went to the garden for some drinks. When they had finished we all went out to a cafe across the street for a lovely late night meal. We then came home and showered off for bed.
